How can I help my student-athlete get noticed by college coaches?
Many parents have told us they have tried, with very little success, to get their student-athlete noticed by college coaches.  Most family’s lack of credibility with colleges, guidance, time, money and experience, as well as knowledge of the recruiting process prohibit them from being able to successfully promote their student-athlete.  CBSA specializes in all of the above to maximize your opportunities as a reliable and credible third party.

When do college coaches start tracking athletes to recruit?
In a survey of over 650 college coaches representing 24 different sports, the process of tracking high school athletes that may eventually be recruited start:

Freshman Year – 30%
Sophomore Year – 45%
Junior Year – 25%
Senior Year – 0%

As you can see from the outcome of this question it is most beneficial to the athlete to join our program at the earliest possible time once they qualify for the program.  In the same survey, college coaches report that 85% begin to actively recruit student-athletes at the beginning of their junior year and 15% begin sometime after the start of the junior year.

I am already a high school senior, is it too late to get recruited?
College coaches will continue to evaluate student-athletes for their program as they become aware of them.  If you are just starting the recruiting process in your senior year, it will be even more important that you gain exposure to a large number of schools.  Inevitably some spots will already be filled via a verbal commitment or National Letter of Intent (if you are starting after the month of November).  A number of college coaches have expressed to us that one of the most difficult tasks in completing the recruiting roster is figuring out which student-athletes are still available and looking for a place to play.  Many student athletes do not sign with a college until late into their senior year, but it is always beneficial to get started as soon as possible.

Is there a guarantee that I will get a scholarship?
CBSA cannot guarantee a college scholarship, no recruiting service can.  Only a college coach can offer and guarantee scholarship money.  CBSA does guarantee that every student-athlete we represent will be actively recruited.  There are many factors that effect the final outcome of a student-athletes recruiting process.  The bottom line is that CBSA can provide the exposure for a student-athlete, but the student-athlete must continue to perform at a high level both in their sport and in the classroom.
